Tobias and Caroline’s story

Caroline gave her life to Christ in 1985. Despite her young age, Jesus became her best friend and she was water baptized the following year. In adolescence, she took some time away from God, to experience the world’s way. However, this separation didn’t last long, as she quickly learned that only God can fill her. She completely rededicated her life to Christ in 1998 and became a leader for young adults in her church.

Tobias followed his parents to many different Christian churches in Alberta and was baptized early in his childhood. As a teenager, he took a path away from God, but just like Caroline, he quickly realized that God is the only way. He then leads the youth worship group in his church and was a youth leader. Then at 26, he decided to leave Alberta for a career opportunity in Montreal.

It’s in Montreal that Tobias and Caroline met, after exchanging few messages through a Christian dating site. Being new to Montreal, Tobias decided to attend the same church as Caroline. In their courtship, they kept themselves busy by serving God through praise (Tobias on guitar, Caroline on piano), and giving their support to the French-English translation team of their church.

In 2011, they got married and were appointed the leaders of the 25-40 singles ministry in their church. This group reached about 500 single Christians. The activities were always a hit, but it’s the conferences that they felt really encouraged the singles. In 2015, Tobias and Caroline began offering individual counseling for Christian singles that wanted to grow in Christ and increase the opportunities to meet someone Godly. They started the blog www.passion374.com to minister to the same audience.

From a simple blog, Passion374 became a para-church ministry that presents conferences, workshops, and some social activities. Passion374 still offers private counseling and publishes weekly articles in English and French on topics touching Christian singles.

In 2017, their first book was published: “Finding the one that clicks: a practical guide for Christian online dating”.

In 2022, Banquet 19:9 was started to expand the ministry while leaving the existing community in place. Passion374 and Mode Observation were placed under Banquet 19:9 to allow for central management of multiple ministries while allowing each to keep their own seperate identity.

The ministry Banquet 19:9 is totally independent, however, the head of the ministry, Caroline and Tobias are submitted to the authorities of their church, The 180, in Laval (Montreal-Quebec). They are also the proud parents of two young children.
